The smooth tones and melodies in blues music has been a jumping off point for many other genres of music in the world today he said. “The audience should listen to see how emotionally the music pours out of a blues player” Feds said. “When a guitar player or a sax player plays a note and the hair stands up on the back of your neck you get the feeling that that note is coming from some place very deep.

5 has given some of its longtime listeners the blues with its latest program changes — and those listeners are coming together online and in a town hall meeting to air their grievances. A few weeks ago the public radio station said that it would be reducing programs from longtime DJs Larry Monroe and Paul Ray’s weeknight jazz shows in order to cut costs and appeal to a wider audience. n Wednesday night a group of concerned listeners hosted a town hall meeting to discuss the changes and whether they would like to take further action to get KUT to reinstate the DJs full schedules.
