She was in the Great Women in Music Festival at Birdland with the Duke Ellington and selected to perform at the 10th Anniversary of International Women in Jazz. She emanates energy joy and fun on and off the stage. July 24Vinny Valentino & Colorfunk consists of Chrissi Poland (vocal and keys); Joel Rosenblatt (drums) and Chris Tarry (bass)— jazz musicians who continue to redefine jazz music to the acclaim of audiences worldwide.

Loar would sing at jazz clubs and the only artist who grabbed her attention in the pop music world was Joni Mitchell. Around that time she met her husband who was an avid rock and pop listener. She found herself at a dead end with jazz music and started writing music in a rock and pop vein. As a songwriter Joni Mitchell initially inspired her to write. Later Atwood and Loar collaborated on a rock musical called "Water from the Moon". Atwood wrote the script and Loar wrote the music which she released as an album. The musical had a week’s worth of performances.
