Ray Vega brings Latin jazz to Music Hall

“The group does one major concert this semester” Stickney said. “This is my first semester conducting it. “Stickney said they practiced for the concert since January and the students are prepared to perform the jazz music. “Most (of) the students are involved in other ensembles but this group was done specifically for jazz” Stickney said. Stickney said the night’s performance will include the pieces “A Night in Tunisia” and “It Don’t Mean a Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing). “”Jazz is one of the true American forms of music” he said. “It’s a chance for students to hear what other students on campus are doing.
