James Moody has long been hailed as one of the jazz world’s most eloquent saxophonists as befits a masterful musician who speaks volumes whether soaring through a breakneck bebop classic or waxing rhapsodically on a seductive ballad. But Moody needed just one word when he learned last month of his Grammy Award nomination for Best Jazz Instrumental Solo for ?Bebop? from the album ?Live at the 2007 Monterey Jazz Festival? by the Monterey Jazz Festival 50th Anniversary All-Stars.
