It does perplex me and I must admit the music does suck. The comment about wondering “why anyone would throw down money for this” is pretty offensive though. I think the answer is because some people prefer smooth jazz to Neutral Milk Hotel Cat Power and all the other crap snobby indie-music fiends drool over. It’s a smooth jazz chart what the hell do you want from them? This must have been a slow day for music news. Whether one likes his style of music or not he is undeniably a great artist.

Haiti Consul General Ralph Latortue was at the show. He said he believes voodoo music could eventually end up on MTV and iTunes. “The origin of jazz music has the same origin as voodoo music” Latortue said. “They both come from Africa. “Josue’s onstage performance is based largely on voodoo tradition like a November celebration of Gede. “Gede is the spirit of death and life the crossroad” Josue said. NBC 6 found people at the celebration from various religions and backgrounds.

Dennis is well known for crowd pleasing performances around the world and has been featured on major televison networks in the United States such as BET and the WRD networks. riginally a student of classical music Rushton names Marjorie Whylie Jon Williams and Monty Alexander as some of his major influences. He tells the story of playing for a tea function at a Jamaican hotel and closing his eyes while playing and hearing a third hand playing on his piano. He opened his eyes to see Monty Alexander joining him for a romp on the piano and leaning an indelible mark on his development. Since that time he has developed into quite a performer and entrepreneur having produced three albums his own company Denrush productions which includes a music school and a recording studio and has travelled the world as a Jamaican ambassador for entertainment solid values and great music. Showtime is 7:30 pm and there is a $300 cover charge at the gate that gives you a complimentary drink.
